The Ukrainian Opera and Ballet Theatre of Lviv is one of the oldest Theatre Companies in Europe. Its magnificent building with its beautiful internal and external artwork is considered to be a treasure of European architecture. The Lviv Opera Theatre was designed by the famous architect Zydmund Horholevskyj, who also created many other well known monumental European structures. The opera "The Golden Penguin" is one of more than 30 operas and ballets in the theatre's repertoire and has been successfully performed there since January 2002.
